20 scholarships are awarded by Govt of India every year (for 14 airfare also paid) for studies by Vietnamese students at undergraduate/post-graduate/doctorate level in any area of the choice of students at any University in India. In addition, two scholarships for learning Hindi (inclusive of  airfare) are also given annually.

110 scholarships (including airfare) awarded to Vietnamese for short-term and medium term courses covering diverse subjects such as IT; English Language; Management; Journalism; Banking; Remote Sensing; Educational Planning and Administration; Rural Development; Teachers Training; Labour Administration; Pharmaceutical Education and Research; Tool Design; Poultry Management; Fluid Control; Statistical Research; Small Industry; Material Management; Textile Research; Water Resource Development  under Govt of India’s ITEC programme.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR VIETNAMESE PARTICIPANTS ATTENDING THE COURSES UNDER THE ITEC (INDIAN TECHNICAL AND ECONOMIC COOPERATION) SCHOLARSHIP PLAN

 Accommodation :

The accommodation for the participants is arranged on a single-occupancy basis in the hotels/hostels approved by the Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India. Kindly note that the accommodation will be provided in a three-star hotel or similar lodging.

Although the participant does not have to pay for the accommodation, he/she is required to pay for any utility services availed by them such as:

a. Room service

b. Laundry

c. Local calls and calls to other cities and countries, for fax and internet connection.

Transportation :

The participant does not have to pay for:

a. Transport from airport to hotel on arrival and vice versa on departure

- A representative carrying a placard with the participant’s name inscribed on it will be present at the arrival lounge of the airport to escort the participant to the hotel.

b. Transport from the hotel to the institute and back on all working days

Living Allowance :

The participant will be paid a living allowance of INR 10,000/-(about VND 3,573,000) per month towards the expenses incurred on:

a. Food – Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

b. Laundry

c. Other sundry and personal expenses

Kindly note that the living allowance of the participant is calculated on the basis of arrival and departure dates.

Medical Facilities :

The participant has to avail the medical services of the doctors and the hospitals empanelled by the institute. On availing these services, the participant has to pay for the doctor’s fee and the medicines and claim the re-imbursement from the institute on actual expenditures.

Kindly note that the medical services coverage does not include the following:

1. Cost of food and tonics.

2. Cost of spectacles, artificial dentures, hearing aids and orthopedic appliances.

3. Cost of anti-diabetic drugs, except for the initial period of 3 months or when the patient develops complications and is hospitalized.

4. Cost of treatment of venereal diseases, cancer, sterility, impotency, obesity and T.B.

5. Cost of dental treatment.

General Guidelines :

a. The classes will be held from Monday to Friday. All Saturdays and Sundays are holidays.

b. It is compulsory to attend the classes regularly.

c. If the participant is unable to attend the class, he/she must seek prior permission in writing from the institute.

d. If the participant wishes to go outside city where the training institute is located, he/she must obtain a No Objection Certificate from the Vietnamese Embassy or Consulate addressed to the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi and submits that to the institute.

e. The participant has to follow the rules and regulations of the institute.

f. The participant will hand over his/her ticket and passport to the institute on the first day of the course. The passport will be returned after a day while the ticket will be kept with the institute for re-confirmation and will be retuned to the participant on the last day of the training programme.
