Welcome to the new website of Embassy of India in Hanoi, Viet Nam.
Ever since this Embassy was set up in 1972, we try to serve Vietnamese and Indian people who have very good relations as tall leaders of our two countries and our leaders since President Ho Chi Minh and Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru pledged brotherly ties soon after great victory in Dien Bien Phu. |
Since then national leaders of India and Vietnam have been meeting nearly every year. And bilateral relations, people to people contact, security and defense cooperation, cultural exchange and bilateral trade and investment have been growing leaps and bounds.
This website is an extension of public service the Embassy of India is rendering for use by anybody, ranging from visa seekers, historians and students, traders and investors, artists and sportspersons.
We welcome tourists from all countries to seek visa and also Indian nationals to come for passport and other consular services. Visa for India is easy and uncomplicated. Most people will get visa in 72 hours, for Vietnamese people, within 48 hours. Holders of Official and Diplomatic Passports do not need visa from certain countries including Vietnam.
We welcome Vietnamese people to apply for study in India as self financing students and Indian government sponsored programmes like ITEC, GCSS, CEP, Colombo plan, Mekong-Ganga Cooperation and others.
We welcome traders, investors, pilgrims and artists to visit the Embassy in Hanoi and our Consulate General in District 3, Ho Chi Minh City. Both are right in the central part of Hanoi and HCM City. Our officials speak English and Vietnamese.
We look forward to serve you. If you feel you are not treated well, please ask to meet senior officers or lodge complaints at the reception. Indian national can also seek information under Right to Information Act (RTI).
It is also useful to note that except for first day of Tet and some Indian and Vietnamese holidays, we always open office from 8.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
